Isn’t the street side called “Cheery Lynn”, and the Avenue side called “Cherry Lynn”?
I lived on Cheery Lynn between 16th and 18th Streets, just a small hop from the canal. Loved that neighborhood.
Thanks for all the comments. I learn so much by stories from other people and value them greatly.
I love the Greater Cheery Lynn neighborhood! My house was one of the first built, (1927). It was built by Mr. Fetter (not the gentlemen you named). His grandchildren came to my home and told me wonderful stories of growing up visiting their grandparents(the builders). They built and lived in my home, and also built the home next door, and possibly the house that once stood three houses down. He was not a developer, but rather a railroad engineer. He built a beautiful home that is very loved.
So glad you enjoyed our little tour. Phoenix has some sweet historic districts and homes… Cherry Lynn is one of my favorites too.
I live on Cheery Lynn and love our neighborhood. Thank you for the history lesson and the tour. My house can be seen near the end of the recording.
I grew up there, miss those years. Enjoyed watching this.
